CARETAKER manager Chris Barker must wait to face his first game in charge – as Saturday's Conference Premier clash at Altrincham has been postponed.
The decision to call off tomorrow's game after the north-west of England has been hit by snowstorms in the past 48 hours.
Barker, the 34-year-old defender, was put in temporary charge last week after Aldershot dismissed Andy Scott, their manager for nearly two years, and his assistant Terry Bullivant.
Chairman Shahid Azeem and his directors decided to act after the home defeat to Kidderminster, Aldershot’s sixth Conference loss in seven matches.
The club have advertised the post, but with Scott, still under contract, placed on ‘gardening leave’ and finances tight, Azeem has said the club is no rush to name a permanent replacement.
Unless an outstanding candidate comes forward, it seems that Barker will have a few matches to prove himself.
