Alton Cycling Club’s summer series winds up

By Farnham Herald in Cycling

ALTON CC/Owens Cycles held the penultimate evening time trial of their summer series on a very blustery evening last Thursday.

The 10-mile event on the H10/8 A31 course was won by David Wells of Petersfield Triathlon Club in a time of 21mins 16secs.

Second and third placings went to regular visitors Chris Cain (Andover Wheelers) with 21-56 and James Long (Farnham Tri) in 22-01.

Three home riders were amongst the field of ten, but Shaun Blow was saddled with a thorn puncture and could not start. Charlie Williams, returning after two weeks away, recorded 25-13 and Keith Parrish managed 25-22.

Iain Cotton, the current Alton CC summer series handicap league leader, was absent, but with only one more week’s racing to go, he is in a strong position to carry off the 2017 title.
