A babywear boutique is moving to a brand new crib in the heart of Petersfield town centre.

Roamy Hunt has pulled off a coup as her Bambino Baby shop is moving to the landmark unit on the corner of The Square and High Street.

The entrepreneur will be sad to leave her “lovely” unit after six years in Pages Court & Yard.

But her business is bursting at the seams and the chance of moving to a prime position in the town was just too good to pass up.

“My shop has grown and grown even since I’ve opened – I absolutely love it here but I’ve run out of space,” said Roamy, who has regular customers from afar as London, Bournemouth and Swindon.

“I’m very excited because I think it’s literally the best shop in the whole town.

“It will be nice to have a High Street presence because so many people say ‘I didn’t know you were here’ or ‘I forget you’re here’.

She added: “It’s lovely here and I love this shop but that unit is so perfect.”

Roamy found out about the unit’s availability after its previous tenants, The Five Fifteen, announced their closure earlier this summer.

While she can’t confirm an opening date, she hopes to open her relocated shop by Hallowe’en.

She added: “I don’t want to close for a day! I’ll try to make the move on a weekend between closing on Saturday and opening on Monday.”

And what about her place on Pages? Who does she think will make a good fit for one of Petersfield’s many hidden treasures?

“Maybe a bridal shop, especially with the lingerie place next door,” said Roamy.

“There’s a surprising amount of footfall as people use it as a cut through to the infant school. I will really miss it.”
