OPERA fans can enjoy three stunning productions by the Glyndebourne on Tour for affordable prices at Woking’s New Victoria Theatre.
Glyndebourne’s first-ever production of Verdi’s classic Rigoletto (pictured), directed by rising star Christiane Lutz and featuring Georgian baritone Nikoloz Lagvilava with prize-winning South African soprano Vuvu Mpofu as his daughter, will be staged at 7.15pm on Wednesday, November 27 and Saturday, November 30.
Robert Carsen’s witty production of Rinaldo moves Handel’s setting from the Crusades to a Harry Potter-style school, with a cast including Jake Arditti and Anna Devin and Glyndebourne Opera Cup runner up Jacquelyn Stucker, at 7.15pm on Friday, November 29.
This year, Woking is also the only venue outside Glyndebourne to showcase the Glyndebourne Chorus and Glyndebourne Tour Orchestra in their first ever Christmas Concert, featuring festive opera highlights and yuletide classics for all the family at 7.15pm on Thursday, November 28.
