A familiar face is returning to Haslemere Town Council – but this time Sarah Nash is taking on the top job.

Ms Nash has been appointed as the council’s new Town Clerk, returning to the authority almost a decade after she served as Deputy Clerk between 2014 and 2017.

Her appointment comes at a significant time for Haslemere, with major changes to local government on the horizon as Surrey prepares for reorganisation.

The council said Ms Nash brings relevant experience and a strong understanding of the role town councils play in supporting local communities.

Town Mayor Cllr Jacquie Keen said: “We are delighted to welcome Sarah back as Haslemere’s new Town Clerk. She joins us at an important time, and we are confident that her experience, knowledge and commitment will greatly benefit the Council and the community we serve.

“On behalf of the Council, I look forward to working with her as we continue to support Haslemere, Grayswood, Hindhead and Beacon Hill through the changes and opportunities ahead.”

Ms Nash said: “I am delighted to be returning to Haslemere Town Council and look forward to working with councillors, staff and the local community at an important time, particularly as we navigate the changes arising from local government reorganisation,” she said.

“I am excited to contribute to the Council’s work, support the town and its residents, and help ensure Haslemere is well placed to respond positively to the changes and opportunities ahead.”
