A man is set to stand trial over the death of a motorcyclist on a south Farnham road nearly two years ago.
Police investigating the death of Kyle White on Ridgway Road on December 1, 2024, have charged Ben Turner with causing death by careless or inconsiderate driving.
The defendant, whose address and date of birth are subject to a court reporting restriction, appeared before Guildford Magistrates' Court on Monday via video link.
He only spoke to confirm he would prefer a trial at Crown Court before being released on unconditional bail.
His appearance followed an earlier adjournment, with a further hearing set to take place at Guildford Crown Court on November 16.
Kyle, a keen motorcyclist from Farnham, was just 39 when he died. There was standing room only at the back of courtroom three, with around a dozen family members attending the afternoon hearing.
No mention was made of the defendant's plea during the hearing, but police officers in attendance told relatives he had pleaded not guilty.
A tree on Ridgway Road remains adorned with flowers, messages and poignant tributes in memory of the “partner, brother, son and father”.
On Friday, January 17, a procession, which included motorbikes, sports cars, and vans, made its way down Ridgway Road, passing the spot where Kyle lost his life.
