Haslemere Hall is set for some high-quality entertainment as the mountaineering author of Touching The Void will deliver a talk this evening (Friday, October 16).

Simon Yates is coming to Haslemere as part of his nationwide Pleasure and Pain tour, where he will recount his most memorable mountaineering experiences over the last decade.

Simon’s adventures span far and wide across the globe. They have involved both excitement and danger, most notably in 2023 when he contacted food poisoning and survived a 100m fall while climbing the north face of Patkhor in Tajikistan.

The manager of Haslemere Hall, Howard Bicknell said: “Touching the void mountaineer Simon Yates is a veteran of over 80 expeditions to high and remote mountains around the globe.

“Now in his sixties, he shows no signs of slowing down! This is his story of the last decade, of new adventures and climbs in the far north and south, along with summits in South America, Central Asia and the Himalayas.”
