YOUNG people are being invited to represent the borough of Waverley in the 20th annual P&G Surrey Youth Games.
The games are spread over two days and feature 14 different sporting events – from tennis, football and hockey to swimming and netball.
Ahead of the main event on June 18 and 19, at Guildford’s Surrey Sports Park, up to nine free training sessions run by qualified coaches are available for young people, aged seven to 16 years.
Netball coach Debbie Baker said: “I have been part of the games and training for a number of years. It is a wonderful event, well organised and full of children enjoying sport regardless of ability.
“I love being part of this and being able to coach those kids that would not normally think to join a club. My own children have certainly had fun trying out new sports.”
For young people to get involved they must either live or go to school in Waverley; if they already play a sport they must be below county standard.
