FIRE stations may become vaccination centres once more as the country is urged to increase its Covid vaccination efforts.

Fire minister Lord Stephen Greenhalgh has sent a letter to fire services asking for volunteers to help give booster jabs.

Chief fire officer Neil Odin said Hampshire and Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue Service was “ready, willing and able”, adding: “There is a growing need for assistance around vaccinations across our communities, and our hard-working health teams need the support of other agencies such as ourselves.”
