MOTORISTS in Surrey are continuing to heed messages from Surrey Police and partners warning them not to drink and drive with the percentage of drivers testing positive over the festive season falling by six per cent over the last three years.
A total of 1,663 roadside breath tests were carried out during this year's campaign, which ran from December 1 to January 1, with 51 people testing positive for alcohol – just over three per cent.
There has been a year-on-year fall in the percentage of positive breath tests since the launch of the Drive SMART campaign in September 2009.
