THE Met Office has issued a ’yellow’ weather warning with ice and snow expected to arrive in Surrey and Hampshire on Tuesday.
Snow, possibly heavy at times, is forecast to develop overnight Tuesday and into Wednesday, turning icy.
The Met Office warns there is a small chance of travel delays on roads across the region "with some stranded vehicles and passengers", along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel.
There is also a slight chance that some rural communities could become cut off, and a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.
In addition, untreated pavements and cycle paths become impassable because of black ice - with an associated risk of injuries resulting from slips and falls on icy surfaces.
