Surrey Lord-Lieutenant Michael More-Molyneux presented the awards at a ceremony at Guildford Harbour Hotel.
The fifth annual awards recognising outstanding young people in Surrey were sponsored by NatWest and Guildford Harbour Hotel, and the event, which included a dance display by Harmony Dance and Drama, was attended by more than 130 guests.
The 2017 award winners are:
• Caring Superstar: Taylor Pearce, 13.
• Fundraising Superstar (5-12 years): Sisters Jess and Emily O’Brien.
• Fundraising Superstar (13-19 years): Twins Conor O’Shea and Marie Ramsay.
• Joint Volunteering Superstars: Katie Waterman, 17, and George Warner, 16.
• Community Superstar: Hamzah Rasheed, 17.
• Courageous Superstar: Jasmine Dhaliwal, 17.
The overall winner of the top award, Superstar of the Year, was Jasmine Dhaliwal and more than 30 young people were Highly Commended.
Organiser Gemma Antrobus, owner of Haslemere Travel said: “Once again Surrey Young Superstars was a wonderful showcase for young people in Surrey, demonstrating their community spirit, unsung bravery and hard work.
“The judges were hugely impressed by the record number of entries received, especially in the volunteering category, and the Haslemere Travel team wishes many congratulations to all of the very worthy winners.”
