Rowledge recorded their second successive win but made hard work of beating relegated Langley Manor by five wickets in Division One of the Southern Premier Cricket League.

Winning the toss and batting, the hosts made a steady start with openers Jack Budd and skipper Conor Browne (14) looking comfortable against the quick bowling of Will Ryman and Ollie Southon.

The game changed once spin was introduced by the visitors, with veteran David Lloyd producing a magical spell of bowling in his penultimate first-team game after more than 40 years with the club.

The ever-reliable spin trio of Lloyd (three for 26), Ollie Baker and Archie Redfern ran through the batting as Langley Manor slipped from 45 without loss to 140 all out. Budd (54) provided some resistance with a solid half-century.

Rowledge’s reply was steady if uninspiring with Redfern bowled by Ben Morgan for ten and a steady flow of batters getting themselves in and giving their wicket away as the visitors slipped to 97 for five.

Olly Ryman (60 not out) took charge of the run chase and hit three fours and six sixes to see the visitors home alongside Ryan Littlewood (ten not out) in the 31st over.

Rowledge’s second team beat Steep by 90 runs. Ricky Yates (57) top scored as Rowledge were bowled out for 235. Richard Forbes (three for ten), Ben Armes (three for 23) and Henry Hinchcliffe (three for 30) impressed with the ball as Rowledge bowled the visitors out for 145.

Rowledge’s third team beat Hartley Wintney’s third team by 209 runs. Huw Ross (68 not out) and Toby Arrowsmith (58 not out) hit half-centuries as Rowledge scored 274 for six. Oli Eaton (three for 16) and Ethan Grist (three for seven) impressed with the ball as Rowledge bowled Hartley Wintney out for 65.
