NEARLY nine acres of undergrowth and gorse were destroyed by fire on Thursley Common.
Surrey Fire and Rescue Service was called to the beauty spot around 4pm on Sunday, with firefighters from across Surrey and Hampshire working to put the fire out.
The blaze was finally contained on Monday morning, according to a fire service spokesman.
