"This event is fake" as scammers target country park near Petersfield

Scammers have targeted East Hampshire’s most popular attraction as a bogus Hallowe’en event has been flagged up by trading standards.

It may sound like a treat, but an event listed as ‘Haunted Halloween Escape – The Hillfort Hollow’ at Queen Elizabeth Country Park (QECP) is a trick.

“This event is fake and not authorised by Hampshire County Council or QECP,” said a spokesperson for Hampshire Trading Standards.

“We advise customers not to purchase tickets for this event and to exercise caution if you see any adverts or social media posts promoting it.

“Please only book events through the official QECP website and social media channels.”
