HASLEMERE’S Christmas Cracker community show is alive and kicking.

The show, which is nearly always a sell-out, has been seen in Haslemere Hall just before Christmas for the past 15 years and this year’s will be on Saturday, December 19.

John Braithwaite, one of the organisers, said: “For many this has marked the real beginning of the festive season in the town.

“Now the event has been re-styled and the programme revised although many of the long-established favourites will be retained.

“As usual there will be both new and traditional carols comprising singers from local churches, musical societies and St Bartholomew’s School, with the addition of a solo harpist and trumpets.

“Light-hearted verse will be included as always, together with some traditional well-known Christmas readings.”

Mulled wine and mince pies will be served during the interval.

Singers are invited to join and rehearsals will be held each Wednesday evening, starting on November 18.
