A landmark festival in Bordon has been postponed with less than 24 hours’ notice.

There’s been shock and disappointment among revellers, stallholders and musicians with the news that Hogfest has been put on hold.

The festival was due to take place at Hogmoor Inclosure from midday to 9pm on Saturday (August 22).

No succinct reason has been given for the postponement at the time of writing but organisers, the Whitehill & Bordon Community Trust (WBCT) have apologised and are hopeful a new date will soon be confirmed.

A spokesperson said: “At the moment we are contacting all our traders, everybody that’s due to attend, and getting things out on social media.

“We are a very, very small team trying to contact everybody, and we are gutted. We are absolutely gutted.”

The spokesperson added: “Most people that we’ve spoken to have been very understanding.

"But we will be back, and we’re aiming for this in September.”

The festival was billed as a landmark community event for the WBCT, bringing a mixture of live music, family-friendly activities, food and drink vendors and stalls to the site off Hogmoor Road.
