Staff at a scrap metal firm in Wrecclesham have a heart of gold judging by their donation to a Farnham charity.

The team at T Baker (JUNR) Ltd recently showed off their fundraising mettle by handing over a £10,000 cheque to local hospice care charity Phyllis Tuckwell.

The firm – which provides a professional scrap metal recycling service to people on both sides of the Surrey border – raised the impressive sum through recycling donations of aluminium cans, old radiators and other scrap metal items handed over by the public.

The firm have long been staunch supporters of the south Farnham charity as they’ve donated more than £45,000 to Phyllis Tuckwell over several years.

"We'd like to say a huge thank you to Shaun, Lee and everyone at T Baker for this really wonderful donation, and for their much-appreciated support over the years," said Eleanor Stanley, corporate fundraising manager at Phyllis Tuckwell.

"£10,000 is enough to pay for nearly two months' care from one of our clinical nurse specialists (CNSs).

“Our CNSs are often the first of our team to speak to newly referred patients,” added Eleanor.

“They assess their needs, discuss the support they and their loved ones will need as their condition progresses, and refer them on to the appropriate teams within Phyllis Tuckwell."

If you have any scrap metal to be recycled, T Baker (JUNR) Ltd would be happy to accept it. Please take any items you have to the company’s yard on School Hill in Wrecclesham.
