AFTER an absence of several years, the Waverley Singers will this month give their summer concert in St Mary’s Church, Frensham.
Works by by Schubert, Bach, Pergolesi and Vaughan Williams will be performed on Saturday, June 17.
There will be three soloists from the Royal Academy of Music, sponsored by the Josephine Baker Trust, a quintet from the Guildhall School of Music and Philip Scriven on the organ, conducted by Richard Pearce.
The concert will start at 7pm and there will be a retiring collection for Farnham Assist. Tickets, which cost £15 (£5 for under-16s and students), can be bought from Newbury Building Society in Alton, online at waverleysingers.com, or from the church.
For their autumn event, the Waverley Singers will offer something unusual in the guise of a performance by massed choirs of Handel’s great oratorio ‘Messiah’, with soloists and orchestra, at Farnham Maltings on October 14.
This will be a ‘turn up and sing’ performance, and the group will offer places to local choirs with the aim of creating an unforgettable community experience.

There will be a retiring collection for the Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
