DISAPPOINTMENT was voiced following Waverley Borough Council's latest executive meeting over the fact that no action will be taken to speed up the delivery of an updated Local Plan to safeguard Waverley from a "developer free for all".
A splinter group of four concerned Tory councillors branded as "unacceptable", the decision taken by executive last month to agree a timetable in which it will take two more years - until November 2015 - before the borough has an adopted plan in place.
Councillors Jim Edwards, Nicholas Holder, Wyatt Ramsdale and Andrew Wilson "called in" the decision for examination by Waverley's "watchdog" community overview and scrutiny committee last week because they fear the council stands to lose many thousands of pounds in infrastructure contributions from developers if it is still without an updated plan by May 2015.
