THE effects of the 2015 earthquakes are still being felt by families in Nepal – and fundraisers Jacquie Verbeek and Nick Morrice have organised two events to raise awareness and funds for Care4Nepal, a small charity that supports orphaned children, and for Nick Morrice’s continuing work with orphaned boys in Kathmandu.
On Saturday, April 13,godal at 7.30pm, there will be a jazz concert featuring singer Phoebe Gaydon and The Gaydon Jazz Quartet, with a silent auction, a raffle and refreshments. Tickets are £15.
On Sunday, April 14, Mr Morrice, a former Godalming resident and author of Discovered in Kathmandu – How I Found My Nepalese Family, will give an illustrated talk and about his most recent trip to Nepal. This event is free, but there will be a retiring collection, a raffle, and an opportunity to purchase books.
