A van driver who admitted driving in Weydon Lane, Farnham, when high on drugs has been banned from driving for 12 months.

Samuel Howell, 23, of Gloster Close, Ash Vale, was also fined £120 and ordered to pay £85 costs to the Crown Prosecution Service and a £48 surcharge for victim services at Guildford Magistrates’ Court on January 23.

It comes after he pleaded guilty to driving a Ford Transit on Weydon Lane – a busy walk-to-school route – on July 15 when the proportion of controlled drug Delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in his blood, namely 3.9 micrograms of analyter per litre of blood, exceeded the specified limit.

The legal limit is two micrograms of analyter per litre of blood.
