Jazz fans are set for a big treat as a blooming great musician is bringing his band to an East Hampshire club.

Grayshott Folk Club has pulled off a coup as the frontman in the Luke Jackson Trio is a “very busy young man”.

Jackson is no stranger to the scene having released eight albums since his More Than Boys debut in 2012.

His latest, the 2024 magnum opus Bloom, was well received with universally positive reviews and more than 60,000 streams on Spotify. The resulting tour was well attended with further highlights included opening for Jools Holland on several occasions.

The multi-talented Jackson has been blessed with a distinctive, bluesy, soulful voice and is just as proficient playing bass or drums.

He has developed an enviable reputation around the roots, acoustic, American, blues and folk circuits through his recordings and dynamic live performances.

During the last four years he has supported for Fairport Convention and Marillion and had a “dream run” of openers for Richard Thompson. He also spent two weeks song-writing and performing in Nashville with highlights including a show at the iconic Bluebird Café.

He's also been compared to the late, great Jeff Buckley by Mark Radcliffe, which can only be a good thing.

With a UK autumn tour on the horizon and gigs around Europe, the US and Canada lined-up in addition to more Jools Holland support shows, there’s never been a better time to see Jackson perform.

Catch him while you can with the Luke Jackson Trio coming to Grayshott Social Club next Thursday, July 27.

The show will begin at 7.30pm with tickets priced £18 from Grayshott Post Office in person, Des O’Byrne on 01428 607096 or by looking for ‘Luke Jackson Trio Grayshott’ on www.ents24.com
