A HOST of golden daffodils greeted visitors to the Chiddingfold Spring Show, which impressed the judges and received double the number of entries for 2017, despite the ‘rather wet’ weather.
The main award winner was Phillip Underwood gaining the Ramsnest Rangers Cup for most points, a WCG Diploma for three vases of flowers, and an Award of Merit for photography; Martin Lacey was runner-up, winning the Jack Talbot Trophy, and also the Winson Trophy (daffodils); Jane Hainsworth-Birt won the Cooper Cup (tulips), the Dorothy Brown Trophy (hellebores) and the Dorothy Whale Trophy (cookery). Other winners were Paulina Walker (Thye Rose Bowl), Annabel Chaplin (Diane Hart Trophy), Debbie Annett-Bateman (Jackson-Gill Trophy); WCG Diplomas went to Felicity Evers, Pat Freemantle and Jo Lavis, who also received an Award of Merit (handicraft).
Winning juniors: James White (Spring Shield) and Max (Children’s Trophy).
