East Hampshire District Council has teamed up with Alton Town Council to provide free parking in an Alton car park to encourage local shopping in the build-up to Christmas.
People can park free in the Lady Place car park from 10am to 4pm on December 3 and December 10.
Cllr Ken Moon, East Hampshire’s economic prosperity portfolio holder, said: “We’re proud to be able to offer free parking in Alton this year, and I’d like to thank Alton Town Council for their help in setting it up.
“Shopping locally is a great way to support the local economy and local people, so I encourage people to think ‘could I buy this locally’ before ordering gifts online.”
