THANKS to Leicester University graduate Eunsil Jang, more of Haslemere Museum’s important European Peasant Arts collection will be accessible online.

The South Korean student, who has a BA in archaeology and art history and is currently studying for an MA in art museum and gallery studies, undertook an eight-week work placement at Haslemere Museum.

Eunsil (pictured) primarily photographed artefacts from the museum’s diverse European Peasant Arts collection and learned how to condition check them as well how to use the museum’s extensive collections management database.

“While on my placement I’ve had the chance to work in a range of departments, from collections to education and have particularly enjoyed my work helping out with the museum’s family-friendly events,” she said.

Visitors to the museum’s website will be able to search through Eunsil’s photographs of the European Peasant Arts collection when they are added to the online database next year.

• The museum would like to hear from anyone interested in undertaking work experience. Call 01428 642112 for more details.
