A VERY enjoyable evening arranged by Haslemere’s 17 Gourmet Geezers was held at Haslewey – and raised vital funds for the Hunter Centre.

The evening raised £2,191.84 and the Gourmet Geezers presented the cheque to the Hunter Centre – a charity based in Haslemere which supports those living with dementia.

The cheque was presented to the Hunter Centre’s chairman of trustees Anne Downing by Ken Griffiths, and some of the chefs.

They produced a gourmet dinner, which was followed by dancing to the Charcoal Burners.

During the evening guests were entertained by soprano Imogen Roose who, unannounced, started to sing during the meal.

The Hunter Centre is hosting a pop-up charity shop in Crossways Road in Grayshott from 10am to 3pm from today (Monday) until Friday (May 20) – which is during Dementia Awareness Week.

There will also be a pop-up charity shop at Haskins Forest Lodge Garden Centre from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, May 21.

Anyone is welcome to pop in for support and advice, a cuppa and a chat or to pick up a bargain.
