ROYAL Surrey County Hospital is once again offering three days of free car parking this Christmas.

Patients and visitors will not be required to pay and display on Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Year’s Day. RSCH deputy chief executive Alf Turner said: “We know that no-one would choose to spend Christmas in the hospital, so we are pleased we can help friends and family to visit over this time without the worry of paying for car parking.

“Royal Surrey is committed to improving its car parking facilities and after listening to feedback from patients, visitors and staff we are delighted to be introducing the new cashless system in January 2017.

“The trust continues to receive comments that our car parks are always busy and many patients have to arrive unnecessarily early to find a space. This year the Trust has invested more than £150,000 in its car parks to increase its overall capacity by 100 spaces.

“Work has also been commissioned to further develop the plans to build alternative car parking on the site for visitors and employees, which will hopefully provide a long-term solution.”
