RESIDENT canine Freddie celebrated his fourth birthday in true Georgian style at RMBI care home, Shannon Court, in Hindhead.

For Freddie’s special day, his owner Jenny, the home’s administrative assistant, put on a Jane Austin themed afternoon for residents and staff.

Dressed up in costumes and bonnets they had made earlier in the week, residents and staff enjoyed period dances, a raffle, games, tea and a birthday cake.

Jenny (pictured) dressed up as Jane Austen, and star of the show Freddie, was Darcy.

Activities co-ordinator Jackie Tumber said: “Freddie spends a lot of time at our care home, and he’s a great comfort to both residents and our staff.

“It was lovely to be able to celebrate his birthday at the home and our Jane Austen themed afternoon was full of laughter and fun.”
