A SPLATTERING good time was had at Haslemere Museum in a “hands-on” draft session for budding artists.

Junior visitors at the Early Years Splatter and Sponge activity listened to a story and then used a variety of stamps and brightly coloured sponges, which had been dipped in paint, to create artworks to take home.

Education officer Kay Topping told The Herald:?“The children had a fantastic time.

“It is always good to see families being creative and learning together while having fun.”

Early Years events take place at the museum every fortnight on Fridays during term-time alternating between morning and afternoon sessions. Children aged five to 11 can become Museum Explorers and attend monthly workshops on a Saturday to enjoy a variety of activities based around the collections, exhibitions and seasonal or national events.
