Meet Karrissa Kwok. This 15-year-old entrepreneur already knows what it takes to be an entrepreneur – and is now earning thousands.
This Surrey-based entrepreneur launched her business in December 2021 at the Farnham Children’s Business Fair.
Originally focusing on jewellery, Karissa soon noticed her hand-made crocheted items were selling quickly.
Like all the great entrepreneurs, Karissa learned quickly and pivoted her business to meet demand.
Guided by YouTube and TikTok experts, Karissa had to juggle school work to ramp up production. Even though her crochet plushies took up to a whole day to create, by March 2022, Karissa had managed to manufacture more than 200-plus crocheted items.
Relaunching at the Children’s Business Fair, her incredibly cute hand-made plushies proved as popular as ever.
All her hard work paid off and Karissa pulled in more than £1,200 in revenue.
Meet Karissa (and buy her cute plushies) and an amazing community of fellow young entrepreneurs at the Farnham Children’s Business Fair – taking place on Saturday (July 2) at the Farnham Maltings.
About the Children’s Business Fair
On Saturday (July 2) at the Farnham Maltings, 50 young entrepreneurs aged seven to 17 will be launching businesses and making their own money at the Farnham Children’s Business Fair.
They’ll have planned their business, created a brand and marketing strategy and manufactured their products ready to sell to customers at this one-day marketplace.
Throughout the day, the children are responsible for set-up, sales and customer interaction – and making their own money. Parents and adults are actively discouraged from getting involved!
They join 820 other young entrepreneurs who, since 2018, have launched 650 businesses across 14 local events and earned their own money – which now stands at tens of thousands of pounds.
Come and meet Farnham’s vibrant community of young entrepreneurs at the Farnham Children’s Business Fair on Saturday at the Farnham Maltings.
It coincides with the Maltings’ monthly market, one of the oldest and largest markets in Surrey.
Find everything from artisan bread to chic vintage items, local craft designers to antique sellers from 9am to 4pm (tickets £1, under-15s free) on Saturday.
