A RECORD number of pupils from Shottermill Junior School helped raise the rafters in London’s O2 Arena for the largest children’s choir concert in the world.

More than 250 students joined in the 2020 Young Voices Experience, following months of preparation for the big event.

Young Voices provides online resources so that children can practise at home to support the rehearsals they are doing in school.

Headteacher Kate Barnes said: “We were the biggest school in attendance with 274 in our party and the children had a wonderful time singing and dancing over months of preparation.

“This is such an amazing experience, where children join 8,500 youngsters to sing to their parents at the O2 Arena. We also had some terrific celebrities to help accompany, such as Tony Hadley and The Shires.”
