A SHOP in Grayshott’s Headley Road will now be allowed to be converted as part of a home following a planning appeal by its owners.
A government planning inspector has published his decision, and approved a change of use from retail to residential for Oak View.
Inspector David Cliff said in his report: “I do not consider the proposal would result in any material harm to the vitality and viability of the primary shopping centre and local centre.”
He said that during his site visit he also noted: “There are other existing non-commercial frontages in the vicinity of the site and, bearing in mind the small size of the unit, I do not consider that this proposal, retaining the existing shop front, would result in any harm to the character or appearance of the conservation area.”
