Three new affordable homes have been secured for Chiddingfold as Waverley continues efforts to increase the borough’s housing supply.

The homes at Oakland Grove were secured by Waverley Borough Council through a Section 106 planning agreement with developer Elivia Homes, which requires developers to contribute towards local affordable housing.

The development includes two three-bedroom semi-detached homes for affordable rent and a two-bedroom semi-detached property for shared ownership.

The council said both rented homes have now been let, while sales activity is underway for the shared ownership property.

Councillor David Munro, Mayor of Waverley, said: “I was delighted to visit Oakland Grove and see these impressive new homes.

“They offer spacious, comfortable accommodation in a beautiful setting and will provide a wonderful place for their new residents to call home. I am particularly pleased that the development includes both affordable rented and shared ownership options.”

Councillor Janet Crowe, Waverley Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Housing Delivery, said the three properties were “an excellent addition to our affordable housing supply in Chiddingfold”.

“Working with developers through planning agreements is one of the important ways we can secure more affordable homes for local people,” she said.

“These properties combine generous living space with modern, energy-efficient technology and have been completed to an excellent standard.

“With demand for affordable housing remaining high, we are pleased that the process of allocating and selling these homes is already progressing.”
