SHOPPERS at Haslemere Tesco benefited from an army of junior bag packers at the checkouts.
Shottermill Junior School head teacher Kate Barnes, learning support assistant Jackie Toth and governor Anne Sayer accompanied members of the school council and the head boy and head girl to the Wey Hill store to provide a bag-packing service in exchange for donations in their buckets.
Pupils (pictured) were raising money for new non-fiction library books, as well as new musical instruments for use in their lessons.
“The children were praised by a number of shoppers for their excellent bag-packing skills, as well as their immaculate behaviour,” Mrs Barnes said. “Thank you to the parents who came along to support their initiative, as well as to Anita from the Haslemere store, who helped to co-ordinate the whole experience. We were delighted to have raised an impressive £340.”
