Haslemere Quilters is holding a quilt show for the first time in eight years.

The show will be held at the Methodist Church on Lion Green from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, September 24 and 11am to 4pm on Sunday, September 25.

Entrance is free for children and £3 for adults.

A raffle will be held, and proceeds will be donated to Holy Cross Hospital.

Haslemere Quilters chairwoman Aileen Assender said: “It is eight years since the Quilters held our last quilt show and we thought it was time to give our community an opportunity to come and see for themselves how much talent we have in our group by showing quilts and other pieces of work made by the ladies of the group.”

The Quilters currently consists of 40 members and the group meets once a month at Our Lady of Lourdes Church Hall.

Aileen added: “This gives us all a chance to get together to chat and sew, learn new skills and see what projects have been made or what is currently work in progress.

“Despite going through the pandemic, the group has remained strong and solid. Our main achievement during this time was making a group VE Day Quilt, which was presented to the Royal Hospital Chelsea in June.”
