A total of £3,500 was raised at the Shalden Village Fete in June – and seven local charities have benefited to the tune of £500 each.

Six of the charities – Cardiac Rehab, Naomi House and Jacksplace, the League of Friends of the Alton Hospitals, the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Air Ambulance, St Michael’s Hospice, and the St Peter and St Paul Shalden church – received their cheques at Shalden’s September Gardening Club meeting. The seventh charity, We Are Macmillan, was unable to attend.

Each charity’s ambassador or representative then gave a short overview of its work.
