WAVERLEY and Guildford have been identified as being in the bottom half in diagnosis rates for dementia in the South East in "shocking" new figures released last Friday.
Just 44 per cent of people with the condition in the area ever receive a diagnosis – meaning they do not have access to potential treatments, support or information.
Chris Wyatt, Alzheimer's Society regional operations manager for the South East said: "Shockingly over half of people with dementia in Waverley and Guildford are being kept in the dark without a diagnosis."
