WAVERLEY Borough Council is consulting until Friday, February 21, on proposals to combine two historic conservation areas in Shottermill.

A public meeting will be held on Thursday, January 30 at 7pm at Haslemere Methodist Church.

Shottermill originates from Shotover Mill on the River Wey, once an important area of small water-powered industries.

Waverley’s planning portfolio holder Cllr Andy MacLeod said: “The two conservation areas currently overlap, so it makes sense to treat them as a single entity and the detailed appraisal of the area’s character and condition will help us ensure its preservation. The information will also help inform planning decisions in and around the conservation area.”
