SLOW worms have put the brakes on an eagerly awaited new cycle jumps planned near Milford.
Plans to build the circuit on donated grassland next to Rodborough Common, and close to the A3, have had to be put on hold until a colony of slow worms can be safely relocated.
Ex-borough councillor John Sandy told Witley annual parish meeting last month the project had been "stalled" by slow worms that had hibernated for longer than usual, due to the long cold start to the year.
Mr Sandy provided an update together with Ian Warby, development officer for the Cycle Touring Club charity, which designed the Olympic legacy BMX track, and is designing the Milford circuit with local dirt jumps star Ollie Wilkins.
