SURREY County Council is to shed up to 650 jobs over the next four years, including 250 in the next financial year starting in April.
The scale of cuts, announced ahead of consideration of the budget by Surrey's cabinet on Tuesday, has led unions to threaten strike action, claiming the figure is more than double what council bosses had told them in discussions.
