THE sun shone on Lurgashall Fete and an impressive £10,000 was raised for good causes in the community.
Live music was provided by The Vic Cracknell Band and children’s entertainers David and Katie kept junior showgoers amused.
Prize pooches, right, competed in the dog show and there were childrens’ rides, a bouncy castle and a children’s corner.
Stalls offered home made cakes and jams, home-grown plants, a white elephant, books, ‘pre-loved’ clothes, and there was abottle tombola and a champagne raffle.
Besides the barbecue, there were home-made teas on offer and a Pimms and beer tent.
Fete chairman Mike Pavia said: “It was a great afternoon and we were delighted to welcome so many people onto Lurgashall green to enjoy the fete. We were lucky with the sunny weather, which meant many people stayed all afternoon. The event is the main annual fundraiser for village good causes so we are very pleased it was a successful day.”
