A FREE event for new businesses and those thinking of setting one up has been organised by Waverley Borough Council and Enterprise First.

‘Ask the Expert’ will be a drop-in event at the Georgian House Hotel on Haslemere High Street on Tuesday, April 12, from 6pm to 7.30pm.

Experts will be on hand to provide practical advice about accessing finance, accountancy, tax issues, and business rates. There will be practical advice on environmental health issues, training and development, planning and marketing.

Councillor Stefan Reynolds said: “Waverley has one of the highest densities of small businesses in Surrey, with more than 91 per cent employing less than 10 people. We also have the highest number of homeworkers in the borough.

“I know first hand how difficult it can be taking the first steps to start a business and events like this can make a vital difference, providing that one piece of advice or information that helps a company to grow or expand.”

The organisers promise a welcoming atmosphere, with a free buffet, and visitors will be able to walk around the stands and find the advice they need.
