Hampshire women’s captain Georgia Adams has signed a two-year contract extension to stay at the club until the end of the 2028 season.

The 32-year-old won six trophies with the Southern Vipers, the regional team based at Utilita Bowl from 2016 to 2024.

She has also won The Hundred with Oval Invincibles, Southern Brave, and Trent Rockets, and Australia’s Women’s Big Bash League with Adelaide Strikers.

The all-rounder led Hampshire to the final of the women’s Metro Bank One-Day Cup in 2025, the first year of professional women’s county cricket, following an unbeaten century in the semi-final against Surrey at Utilita Bowl.

“I absolutely love playing my cricket at Hampshire and Utilita Bowl,” said Adams. “This club is practically my home.

“As a club, we have a great record in both formats of the game along with a reputation of developing players for club and country.

“I’m delighted I can continue my career with Hampshire as we look to reach another 50-over final on our home ground come September.”

Adams began her career at Sussex, where her father Chris forged a 20-year career.

She earned various call-ups to England representative sides before earning a full international cap in 2024 when the Three Lions played Ireland on the Emerald Isle.

Adam Carty, regional director of women’s cricket, said: “Georgia is the cornerstone of women’s cricket here at Utilita Bowl, and we are delighted she will remain here for at least another two seasons.

“She is our leader, on and off the field, and has showcased her match-winning ability on numerous occasions with bat and ball for the club.

“She is a vital part of our plans for the next phase of our journey, and we look forward to seeing her continue to flourish here at Utilita Bowl.”
