SURREY Police are appealing for witnesses to a road traffic collision in the centre of Haslemere earlier today in which a man in his 80s suffered serious head injuries.
The collision took place just before 1pm at the junction of the High Street and Shepherds Hill and involved a blue Nissan Micra car.
The pedestrian was taken by ambulance to St George’s Hospital, Tooting. The car driver was shaken but was otherwise uninjured.
Road closures remained in place while emergency services were in attendance and diversions were in operation for several hours.
Officers investigating the circumstances would like to speak to anyone who witnessed the collision.
