A PEDESTRIAN had a lucky escape after a car was reportedly forced off the road into a lamppost at the junction of Downing Street and Longbridge in Farnham.
According to eye witnesses, a car pulled out of Longbridge into the path of an oncoming BMW approaching from Union Road at around 7am last Tuesday – forcing the male driver of the BMW to mount the pavement, hitting a lamppost and narrowly avoiding a pedestrian.
The other car involved in the incident reportedly left the scene without stopping.
Farnham Fire Station confirmed no-one was hurt in the crash, which has since prompted calls for new safety railings.
