The A3 tunnel is now open in both directions after a technical fault closed both lanes from 8.16am to 12.12pm today.

A diversion was put in place but motorists experienced significant delays because of the closure.

Tonight the tunnel will close again for scheduled works.

The A3 northbound will close at the Hindhead Tunnel with contraflow in place. The closure is in place from 9pm to 6am the following morning.
