IF you’re already feeling festive, then what better way to get into the Christmas spirit than by signing up for one of Phyllis Tuckwell’s santa and rudolph fun runs.

Register now to secure your spot, and get friends, family and work colleagues to sponsor you to take on the challenge, wherever you live.

The fun runs will take place in three different venues across Surrey and Hampshire, so you can choose your nearest - or your favourite.

Pick from a 3.5km route around the beautiful Devil’s Punch Bowl in Hindhead on Sunday, November 26, a 4k run around Broadwater Park in Godalming on Saturday, December 9, or two laps (approx 5km) of Queens Avenue Playing Fields in Aldershot on Sunday, December 10.

These runs are a lively and hugely enjoyable way to help hospice care charity Phyllis Tuckwell support local patients and families who are living with a terminal illness, such as cancer.

Everyone is welcome – including dogs (on a lead) - and you can run, jog or walk at whatever pace you feel comfortable with.

“These fun runs are a fantastic way for people to get involved and help us hit our fundraising target,” said Fiona Chapman, events fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell.

“Last year they raised £21,000 – enough to cover the costs of providing our day services for a fortnight, offering patients a weekly visit to the hospice or Beacon Centre where they can access medical and nursing care, see a physiotherapist or occupational therapist, receive complementary therapies or join in with a therapy group, speak to a counsellor or chaplain, spend time in the chapel or gardens, and enjoy a social lunch with other patients.”

Registration costs £14 for adults and £7 for children (U14), and includes a Santa suit for adults and reindeer antlers with a red nose for children – helping you to really get into the Christmas spirit.

There will also be a goody bag and a medal for everyone who completes the course.

All three fun runs start at 11am. Visit www.pth.org. uk/event-diary or call (01252) 729446 to register.
