THE great £400,000 refurbishment sale by home store Collingwood Batchellor exceeded all expectations, when it opened on Thursday, April 28.

Customers poured into the Haslemere High Street store eager to pick up a bargain in the “nothing has been held back” sale of upholstery, furniture, linen and gifts, before the shop closes for a week on Sunday, May 15, for a major revamp.

“We have been flat out,” store manager Alistair Brown told The Herald on Tuesday. “The sale is going incredibly well - far better than we first anticipated.

“Collingwood Batchellor opened in 2003 and will close for a week from May 16 so we can completely refurbish and redesign our showrooms.

“When we re-open we will have new oak flooring and carpet and lost of new room sets.

“We remain fully committed to Haslemere and continue to invest in our business with the help of our loyal customers.”
