CHANGEABLE weather failed to dent the enthusiasm for Haslemere Walking Festival 2019, which stepped out from Friday to Sunday (Sept 227-29).

Some of the walks on offer in the fourth annual festival, which is funded by Haslemere Town Council, were fully booked long before the start.

Festival routes were a journey of discovery in and around Haslemere, across the South Downs National Park, through National Trust heathlands, and deep into the Surrey Hills area of outstanding natural beauty.

They ranged from a bracing 15 miles countryside circuit from Haslemere Station to twilight bat walks.
